Sasaab

Remarkable lodge located on a private wildlife conservancy along the Ewaso Nyiro River, which forms the southern boundary of the Samburu National Reserve, the best-known of Kenya’s northern game areas. Owned by the Carr-Hartley family, it displays dramatic architecture that is a fusion of Moroccan and Swahili styles and is both functional and aesthetically appealing. Nine tented suites, each with more than 1,000 square feet, offer four-poster beds, lavish baths and private plunge pools on scenic terraces. Spa set on the banks of the river offers pampering in full view of the local elephant. Helpful staff, excellent food, well-organized excursions and plentiful wildlife.
